雷速体育:Former diplomat joins China-ASEAN institute, innovation center as lead researcher, chief scientist

Yu Hongjun, former Chinese ambassador to Uzbekistan, was appointed lead researcher at China-ASEAN Research Institute (CARI) of Guangxi University and chief scientist at China-ASEAN Collaborative Innovation Center for Regional Development at the International College of Guangxi University on October 12.


Liu Zhengdong, secretary of Guangxi University Party Committee, handed over the appointment letters to Yu. Liu gave Yu a warm welcome and spoke highly of his achievements in international relations studies and diplomatic affairs.  


Vice President of Guangxi University Fan Zuojun presided over the appointment ceremony. 


Jiang Wenjun, deputy Party chief of International College, and Deputy Dean Bi Fuchun also attended the ceremony. 


Yu used to be a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and deputy head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee. Now, he is the vice president of the Chinese People's Association for Peace and Disarmament, a non-governmental peace association.


Yu also serves as a consultant for the International Finance Forum, World Socialism Research Center of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Chinese Academy of Governance and a senior consultant at Pangoal Institution.
